BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The quiet, slow-paced days of summer are officially ending in historic Downtown Bryan.

As thousands of college students prepare to return for the upcoming fall semester at Texas A&M University, local businesses and community organizers are rolling out the red carpet and upping their inventory just in time for the highly anticipated kickoff to the school year.

The August 7th First Friday event serves as the perfect seasonal bridge, turning a quiet summer town into a place full of young community energy."It's really fun to welcome Aggies back to the community," said Lina Adams, PR and Communications Coordinator at Destination Bryan.
