Asking for a lower credit card rate is working more often, survey finds

(InvestigateTV) - A simple phone call could save credit card holders money, according to a new LendingTree survey.

Matt Schulz, chief consumer finance analyst at LendingTree, said asking for a lower interest rate is a step many people overlook."It is incredibly important for people to speak up," Schulz said.

"And the truth is that people have way more power over their money than they think they do."The survey found 84% of cardholders who asked for a lower credit card interest rate in the past year were successful.
