A deadly shooting in Midland has left one person dead and 11 others injured, according to city officials.

Information first reported by First Alert 7 and later confirmed during a Midland city news conference indicates officers responded to reports of an active shooter in the 4600 block of West Wall Street.

Midland Police Chief Seth Herman Snow said officers arriving at the scene heard gunfire coming from inside a building and immediately began securing and clearing the area.
