WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - With the election results in, many Texans may be ready to step away from politics until the next election.

However, the League of Women Voters is encouraging residents to remain involved in local and statewide government.

After a record-breaking early voting period in Texas, with more than 7. 7 million residents casting ballots before Election Day, League of Women Voters President Betty Richie says staying informed and participating in the political process should not stop once the votes are counted.
