More than $160,000 has gone to local charitable organizations during the latest round of grant funding from a foundation honoring a Swedish couple who settled in eastern Williamson County.

The Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation's sustainability grants invest in the people, systems and infrastructure behind area groups helping others, officials said.

Through its sixth annual grant cycle, the foundation recently announced awards exceeding $164,000 to nonprofits serving Georgetown, Taylor and Hutto, with $100,000 of those monies benefiting the latter two communities.
