SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Smith County Emergency Services District 2 responded to a report of a downed power line, arcing wires and a grass fire at the intersection of Highway 271 and McCormic Road.

Crews arrived to find heavy rain falling and no active fire.

Officials believe a dead tree leaning on another power line caused the line to fall.
