LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Lubbock-area organizations, churches and local business are hosting free back-to-school events giving families multiple opportunities across the city to get ready for the upcoming school year.

Saturday, August 1Citywide Back-2-School Bash10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic CenterThis free, family-friendly event will provide 8,000 K-12 students with clear backpacks and basic school supplies.

Backpacks will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
