LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - A Longview man has been charged with federal violations related to falsified tax returns.
Jason Elias Briley, 42, was named in a 19-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in August 2026, charging him with aiding or assisting in tax fraud.
Briley appeared in federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge K. Nicole Mitchell on September 9, 2026. According to information presented in court, Briley owned a tax preparation business in Longview and is alleged to have prepared federal tax returns on behalf of his clients that included false information in an attempt to increase the refund amounts.
