DENISON, Texas (KXII) - The city of Denison plans to borrow $20 million to repair its water and sewer system, city officials said.

Denison Assistant Public Works Director, Fanchon Stearns, said the funding will cover water and wastewater spending at treatment plants, water tower improvements and pipes in the ground.

Stearns said the city's water system is more than 150 years old."There are mains and valves that we uncover that's stamped 1931, 1936, 1940's, so there's a long way to go," Stearns said.
