Big Spring High School graduate Bergan Pinkley is being recognized by Queens University of Charlotte not only for her accomplishments as a student-athlete but also for the community service that has defined her journey.

According to Queens University of Charlotte, Pinkley arrives on campus after earning one of Texas' highest student honors.

Earlier this year, she was named a Texas Student Hero by the Texas State Board of Education, an award presented to just 15 students statewide in recognition of outstanding volunteer service.
