WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in an interview with Real America's Voice on Thursday that Nidal Hasan would be executed by Fort Hood soldiers, and the execution will be public.

"No brainer. Of course we're doing it at Fort Food," Hegseth said, adding the execution would take place at 1 p.m., and be carried out by soldiers with rifles."We're going to do it at 1 o' clock - which is when he did it. It's going to be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad ... We're going to make sure people are able to watch it, that it's public," Hegseth said.

Hasan was sentenced to death for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, which killed 13 people and wounded dozens more.
