ZAVALLA, Texas (KTRE) - Volunteers and a Lufkin home improvement store teamed up to renovate a park in Zavalla, a town of fewer than 700 people, at no cost to the city.

The project was initiated by Kristy Bice with Communities Unlimited, who said park improvements had been a recurring topic at city council meetings."City park was something that I had always heard being brought up in council meetings from citizen groups or council members and the mayor," Bice said.
