(KGNS) - Laredo ISD has opened RISE Academy, a new vocational campus for students with special needs, expanding a program that previously operated out of single classrooms at each LISD high school.

RISE Academy opened this school year and occupies one wing at 2600 Palo Blanco, the former Cigarroa Middle School campus.

The campus builds off Next Step, a program that used to run out of a single classroom at each LISD high school.
