TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The City of Tyler has approved a new study to evaluate the Lake Tyler East Dam, which has stood since 1967 and supplies drinking water to the city.
Tommy Jackson, a retired Tyler resident, fishes at Lake Tyler most days."It's the way I relax. And the lake has done wonders for me. You know, if I didn't have the lake, I don't know what I'd do. I wouldn't live here, probably," Jackson said.
Last year, city crews found sinkholes and signs of possible seepage near the spillway.
