Cow gives birth near busy Fredericksburg street with help from cowboys, vet and community

A cow in labor was safely delivered with assistance from local police, cowboys, and a veterinarian near Marktplatz in Fredericksburg after roads were shut down to manage traffic.

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas - It started with a call no one expected on a busy Tuesday afternoon.

A cow was loose near Marktplatz, in the heart of Fredericksburg - and she was in labor.

Fredericksburg police shut down nearby roads on Sept. 15 to control traffic while cowboys came to wrangle the cow and try to calm her down.
