(InvestigateTV) - The Better Business Bureau is warning sports fans to verify where they place bets online, saying some consumers have run into problems with unlicensed and unverified casinos and sportsbooks.

From 2022 through mid-2025, the BBB said it received nearly 200 scam reports and more than 10,000 business complaints related to online gambling and gaming.

Josh Planos with the Better Business Bureau said some companies are still building their platforms while simultaneously taking on new customers."A lot of these businesses are kind of building the infrastructure at the same time that they are trying to take on new clients," Planos said.
