HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after a shooting in northwest Harris County, investigators said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 11200 block of Veterans Memorial Drive at about 3:45 p.m. Authorities said that the victim was shot in his "lower extremity." Officials said the victim was then taken to the hospital, where he is expected to be OK. The victim's identity was not immediately released by authorities.

HCSO said there were no witnesses and that they are determining what led up to the shooting.
