Forney police search for 2 suspects after fatal shooting, residents asked to stay inside

Forney police responded Sunday to a residence in the 300 block of Eagle Ridge where investigators discovered a fatal shooting believed to have been carried out deliberately against a specific target. Authorities arrived following reports of gunfire and located one deceased victim at the scene.

Detectives determined the violence was not random and that two men fled the immediate vicinity shortly after the incident, likely departing in a motor vehicle. An initial search of the surrounding neighborhood was discontinued after law enforcement concluded the suspects had already left the area. The investigation remained active at the scene, with police still gathering evidence and conducting interviews.

Law enforcement released descriptions of the two suspects being sought in connection with the killing. The first individual is characterized as a Black man standing between 6 feet and 6 feet 1 inch tall who was last observed wearing all black attire. The second suspect is described as a tall Black man with lighter complexion, identified as wearing a gray shirt and black mask at the time of the incident.

Police instructed residents within the vicinity to exercise heightened awareness and remain inside their homes while the investigation proceeded. Officials specifically cautioned the public to maintain distance from the active crime scene and not approach the area where authorities were working.

The Forney Police Department has not released the identity of the victim. Police encouraged anyone who observed individuals matching the suspects' descriptions or possesses information about the shooting to contact the department. The investigation was ongoing as of the latest reports.
