Houston-area man arrested for thousands of images of AI-generated child pornography

A 29-year-old Humble resident faces multiple felony charges following an investigation by Harris County Constable Precinct One detectives who discovered synthetic child abuse material during a search of his home.

Alexander Bigelow was arrested after investigators uncovered thousands of artificial intelligence-generated child sexual abuse images stored on computer equipment seized from his residence, according to law enforcement authorities. Constable Alan Rosen announced the arrest Monday in connection with an ongoing investigation by the agency's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

Bigelow stands charged with three second-degree felonies related to possession of computer-generated obscene depictions of children under age 10. Each of those charges carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine. The charges reflect a recent expansion of Texas law that criminalized possession of artificially created child sexual abuse material, treating such synthetic images the same as photographic depictions.

In addition to the charges involving AI-generated material, Bigelow faces a state-jail felony count for invasive visual recording. According to court records, he used a camera concealed inside a charging device to secretly record a bedroom that was not his own. This offense carries a potential penalty of up to two years in custody.

During the search of Bigelow's Humble home, detectives recovered a computer and external hard drive containing the thousands of synthetic images. The investigation remains ongoing.
