Man arrested for sexual assault of child in Trinity County

Law enforcement authorities in two separate Texas counties have announced arrests in unrelated child sexual assault investigations this week, bringing multiple felony charges against the suspects involved.

In the Dallas area, officers with the Duncanville Police Department took a Grand Prairie Independent School District educator into custody Friday on suspicion of committing a first-degree felony involving sexual assault of a child. James Robinson, who taught within the school system, was immediately removed from his position and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. The Duncanville Police Department declined to release additional specifics about the allegations or the circumstances surrounding the case, citing the need to safeguard the identities of those connected to the matter and maintain the integrity of the ongoing inquiry.

"The Duncanville Police Department recognizes the serious nature of allegations involving crimes against children and remains committed to conducting thorough, impartial investigations while ensuring victims receive the appropriate support and resources," authorities stated in a written statement.

In a separate case several hours' drive northeast, Trinity County law enforcement apprehended a man wanted in connection with a lengthy child sexual assault investigation. Jose Viset Sanchez Bautista was taken into custody at approximately 5:30 a.m. Thursday at a residence on Kickapoo Road following an extended investigative effort. He faces charges related to second-degree felony sexual assault of a child based on a warrant issued in Trinity County.

Sheriff Woody Wallace noted that investigators had determined Bautista was unlawfully present in the United States. Because authorities classified him as potentially armed and dangerous, Wallace said officers undertook considerable precautionary measures during the apprehension to protect law enforcement personnel and nearby residents.

Following the arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence, where officers discovered firearms in plain sight. That finding prompted a second search warrant, which led to the confiscation of multiple weapons that law enforcement believes were possessed illegally. Federal charges related to the weapons seizure are expected.
