A collision involving a towing vehicle and a pickup truck left two people hurt Thursday morning in Trinity County, according to law enforcement officials.
The two-vehicle wreck occurred on Highway 94 in the vicinity of Groveton, near the Glendale Water Supply Company facility. First responders arrived at the location shortly after 5:25 a.m., Trinity County Sheriff's Office representatives said.
The accident brought together a wrecker and a pickup truck, with both vehicles sustaining extensive structural damage in the impact. The wrecker operator, from the Houston area, suffered serious injuries requiring emergency transport by ambulance to a medical facility for treatment.
The pickup truck's driver, who resides in Lufkin, experienced minor injuries and received care at a hospital after traveling there by private transportation rather than emergency vehicle.
No additional occupants were present in either vehicle at the time of the collision, according to sheriff's office accounts. Officials did not provide information regarding the cause of the crash or contributing factors.
