A shooting in west Harris County on Friday left one woman dead and a man in critical condition, authorities said.
Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene in the 7400 block of Casuna Lane after receiving reports of gunfire. Officers discovered the injured man and woman lying in the intersection, each bearing gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to local hospitals for emergency treatment. The woman's condition deteriorated, and she was pronounced dead at the medical facility. The male victim remained hospitalized in critical condition as of the department's latest update.
