BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - City leaders, local business owners and residents gathered Tuesday evening at Brame Park to cut the ribbon on a newly renovated, fully accessible community space following a multiyear revitalization project.
The reopening marks the completion of extensive upgrades at the park on Hogan Lane, funded in part by a $150,000 competitive matching grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department alongside city investments that pushed total improvements past $400,000.
Renovations focused heavily on Americans with Disabilities Act compliance and inclusive play, introducing paved concrete walkways to replace crushed granite paths, expanded handicap-accessible parking, upgraded restrooms, new lighting circuits and modern playground equipment.
