A teenager was hospitalized after shots were fired near a Northeast Side apartment complex, the San Antonio Police Department said.

Police said they responded to a reported shooting in the 8000 block of Midcrown Drive before 2 p.m. An officer said two groups of people exchanged gunfire in the area and at least one person was shot.

First responders took the teenager to a local hospital with a gunshot wound, SAPD said.
