Dimmit and La Salle county residents voted to join Southwest Texas College's taxing district, a partnership that will bring technical and workforce opportunities to rural regions and, in return, more revenue for the college.

Over 52 percent of La Salle voters, 777 people, approved the annexation, and 47. 78 percent, 711, voted against it.
