POLK COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Polk County grand jury has indicted a man on murder and evidence tampering charges in connection with the death of a woman whose death was initially investigated as suspicious, authorities said.

According to deputies, the indictments against Cody Allen Laviolette were returned on Oct. 30 after jurors reviewed evidence presented by Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives in the death of 31-year-old Kelly Taylor Mariah Little.

Investigators said the case stems from an incident on May 23 at Laviolette's home, where Little and her three children resided.
