BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A phone call is floating around where someone will tell you that you missed jury duty, have a warrant out for your arrest and need to pay a fine over the phone to avoid getting in trouble.

The Bell County sheriff held a press conference Wednesday night to warn people that this is a scam.

Lauryn Austin is a Belton resident who says she recently received the call and typically she wouldn't fall for something like this but the call came just days after she was summoned for jury duty and filed to opt out because she is the sole caretaker of her kids.
