LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Tahoka Police Chief Jeff Parker received a life-saving award from the City of Tahoka for saving nine lives believed to be victims of human trafficking during a traffic stop.

Parker patrols the streets like every other officer in their town.

Last month, he stopped a van speeding through the school zone on Highway 380."The lights were flashing. The speed limit was 20 miles an hour. And here come a van down through the school zone doing 33 in a 20. So, just like I normally would anything else, I pull around, stop the vehicle, and it was a little bit more than what I thought it was going to be," Parker said.
