LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Longview City Council approved grants totaling $1,240,000 for nonprofit organizations to continue providing resources for the homeless community.
The Salvation Army was awarded more than $900,000 to build new rooms inside its facility.
An organizer said the funding will provide 28 additional rooms, growing to around 84 within three years, as the organization sees an increase in people needing resources and places to stay.
