ARLINGTON, Texas (KXII) - Former Caddo softball star and current starter for the Texas Longhorns Jaycie Nichols threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Texas Rangers game Thursday night.

Choctaw Nation Chief Gary Batton represented the nation at the game for the Rangers 'Choctaw Night,' and handed off the first pitch honors to Nichols, who is a Choctaw tribal member.

Nichols won eight state championships with the Caddo Lady Bruins, and helped lead the Longhorns to their second Women's College World Series title as a starter at third base.
