BOERNE, Texas - An active law enforcement scene is underway at Herff Elementary School, the Kendall County Office of Emergency Management & Fire Marshal said Friday afternoon, citing the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Boerne ISD says students still on campus for after-school programming have been moved indoors and are sheltering in the school's front office.

The district sent a bulletin to Herff families at 4:26 p.m. stating that officers were on campus "assisting with an incident in the area." Remaining staff and after-school students were brought inside, according to the notice.
