LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Lufkin area chapter of Ducks Unlimited will host its annual fundraising banquet Saturday at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center, raising funds for wetland and habitat conservation.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the family-friendly event, which includes a dinner, live and silent auctions and unique raffles.

Ducks Unlimited, founded in 1937, is a non-profit dedicated to preserving wetlands, which are also crucial for drinking water quality."Our job as conservationists is to make sure there is land, habitat and water for generations to come," said Kyle Gokey, the East Texas regional director of Ducks Unlimited.
