LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - For the second straight year, Lubbock Independent School District is celebrating the steady improvements in the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) academic accountability ratings.

In the newly released 2026 ratings, the district scored 82% overall, continuing its upward trend after rising from a "C" to a "B" (80%) in 2025.

Superintendent Dr. Kathy Rollo credited the growth to the hard work of students and teachers, noting that the district now has three "A"-rated high schools-the most of any single district in the region."While we know we still have plenty of work to do at several of our campuses, this achievement is proof that our district is steadily progressing toward our goal of educating all of our students at A- and B-rated campuses," Dr. Rollo said.
