KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Since April, City of Killeen staff have been working to develop an overlay district on the north side of town that would add to existing residential or commercial zoning in the area.

The City Council established the North Killeen Revitalization Program by ordinance on Sept. 22, 2015, readopted it on Sept. 20, 2020, and amended it on Jan. 10, 2023.

The proposed overlay district would apply to approximately 1,842. 179 acres bounded by North Fort Hood Street on the west, the Fort Hood United States Army Post on the north, WS Young Drive on the east, and Hallmark Avenue, Trimmier Road, and Terrace Drive on the south.
