TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler nonprofit helping fight child trafficking is holding the first-ever HOPE Roars Day to promote awareness of exploitation."Our mission is to prevent exploitation and trafficking for all the vulnerable, and it's happening right here in Tyler, Texas, and all surrounding communities," For The Silent Executive Director Melanie Thomas said.

"And that's why we all need to get involved."In exchange for a $25 donation, Thomas said supporters can purchase a shirt bearing the message "Our kids are not for sale."For The Silent is a Tyler-based nonprofit whose mission is to "empower the voice of vulnerable youth and end the commercial sexual exploitation of children through prevention education, survivor-centered care and community transformation," according to its website.

The organization also is distributing an illustrated Hope Roars book for children around ages 4 and 5.
