Schreiner won the first two sets and led in each of the next three, but Howard Payne rallied for a 3-2 American Southwest Conference win Thursday at Brownwood Coliseum.

Schreiner's set scores were 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 17-25 and 15-17.

Schreiner fell to 8-7 overall and 2-3 in the ASC.
