LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program is working to provide Christmas gifts for children in need in the Lubbock area.
Major Jamie Clay has worked with the Lubbock Salvation Army for 19 years."Every year I'm very shocked at how many families really are in need," Clay said.
"And obviously we can't take everybody, but we're able to process those that we have and get them the best available things out there so that way those children can have a Christmas morning where they are remembered."Requests range from toys to basic essentialsClay said she's seen children request Barbies, video games, and sometimes just clothes."It always breaks my heart, but when moms are just in need of the basic essentials, diapers, you know," Clay said.
