SOUTHMAYD, Texas (KXII) - Southmayd Police Officer Scott Barrett received three awards Tuesday night for saving a child's life on July 21.
Police Chief Jeff Laughlin said watching Barrett's actions that night left a lasting impression."As I looked at it, it put tears in my eyes. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen," Laughlin said.
"I saw a very calm, professional officer handling a situation without hesitation, and I saw him saving a life."The rescueBarrett was called to a Southmayd home around 1 a.m. after a young girl, Paisley, began choking.
