Some parts of Fredericksburg look like people are decorating for Halloween early.

In their front yards are leafless pecan trees full of wispy webs.

If you didn't know the cause, one could imagine giant spiders inhabiting those webby nests, trying to catch birds or drop onto the unsuspecting heads of passersby.
