City of Kerrville Public Works Director David Barrera gave Rotarians an update of the city's proposed Elm Creek Pipeline project at last week's meeting.

A town hall meeting in late June at the Arcadia Theater first introduced the project that, if implemented, will become part of the long-range water plan the city developed to address future water needs for decades to come.

Initially, some residents voiced opposition to the project because it will discharge reclaimed water into Nimitz Lake, the source of 80 percent of the potable water city residents use.
