COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M University will kick off its "Spirit of 150 Week" with a series of special events celebrating the university's sesquicentennial.

The festivities begin Friday, Oct. 2, with the Sesquicentennial Opening Ceremony on the Jack K. Williams Administration Building front lawn from 4 to 6 p.m. Organizers told KBTX they have contingency plans in place if weather forces changes.

Following the ceremony, a special Yell Practice will be held at 9 p.m. at Kyle Field, featuring a drone and pyrotechnic show."We're going to have a lot of the typical yell practice pieces," said organizer Julie Mosbo Ballestro.
