Days after a federal immigration agent shot and killed 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston's Magnolia Park, Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare began working to certify special visas for the men who witnessed the shooting.
According to U.S. Rep. Sylvia Garcia, the ICE agents involved in the July 7 shooting did not have body cameras, and dash cameras did not capture the incident.
The three undocumented men, then in ICE custody, were likely the only witnesses.
