WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Former Baylor head football coach Dave Aranda shared a heartfelt farewell to the Waco community and Baylor program on Thursday stating he is leaving with "no apologies, no regrets, simply gratitude."This statement comes as the first time Aranda has addressed the public following his firing from Baylor as head football coach.

On social media, Aranda shared a picture of his family on the field at McLane Stadium, alongside a reflection on his seven-year tenure leading the bears."Thank you for the opportunity to lead Baylor Football for the last seven years - it's been a tremendous honor," Aranda wrote.

"Dione and I remain very grateful for the many meaningful relationships forged in Waco. You embraced our family and provided a supportive community to raise our kids."Aranda acknowledged the on-field struggles that led to the university's decision, while defending the effort of his staff and players."The game changed tremendously during my time at Baylor - some of which we were prepared for and others requiring growth on all fronts," Aranda stated.
