The owner of Hovey Motorcars and his son pleaded guilty Thursday to multiple first-degree felony charges stemming from a probe into allegations they defrauded or stole thousands of dollars from customers.

Judge Kirsten Cohoon of the 451st state District Court Aug. 6 accepted the guilty plea from Richard Dean Hovey Sr. to the first-degree felony offenses of misapplication of fiduciary property valued at $300,000 or more and theft of property valued at $300,000 or more.

His son, Richard Dean Hovey Jr., pleaded guilty to the first-degree felony offense of theft of property valued at $300,000 or more.
