BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Dozens of families across the Brazos Valley face the nightmare of a missing loved one - and one local organization is working to make sure they don't face it alone.

The Amber Alert Network of the Brazos Valley is a regional missing persons nonprofit supporting families and law enforcement when someone disappears, regardless of age, circumstance, or alert status.

Executive Director Chuck Fleeger says the organization has grown well beyond its original focus."We have expanded to where we will assist for any missing-person case, adult or child, whether they qualify for a named alert or not. They're still somebody's loved one. They're still missing, and it's our job to try and help find them and bring them home safely."One of the most persistent misconceptions in missing persons cases is the idea that families must wait before reporting.
