By Brooke Major, Major Auto Parts on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 Photo courtesy of San Saba Chamber of Commerce Mark Major, along with his wife Ginny, opened his automotive repair center (Major Automotive) in September of 1988 in Goldthwaite and in 2012 purchased the family's first auto parts store next door to the shop from Joe Brooks.

For him it was a natural progression of growing the company, and purchasing a local business from a family friend just made sense.

In 2014, Mark and Ginny's daughter Brooke Sides moved home to join the family business by managing the parts store.
