Jolene Amburn, a conservation educator for the Texas Wildlife Association, brought an interactive presentation over mammals to Starkey Elementary, where students learned about various wildlife, predator-and-prey relationships and the importance of stewardship.

Opening up her presentation, Amburn began by identifying the difference between wildlife and domesticated animals.

"We have pets and we even have livestock, but all those animals have caretakers that give them food, water, shelter, air and space. Domesticated animals get those things because they have caregivers," Amburn said.
