COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - College Station City Council voted 4-2 Thursday night to renew the city's contract with Flock Safety, keeping the city's network of 84 license plate reading cameras in operation.

The vote came after more than 25 residents signed up to speak during a lengthy public comment period, with voices both for and against the technology.

College Station signed its original contract with Flock Safety in September 2025, with the first cameras installed the following month.
