The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has updated the requirements for buying hunting and fishing licenses in the state of Texas.

The purpose is to curtail fraud by out-of-state residents trying to get Texan benefits.

"The intention of this change is aimed at preventing fraud and misrepresentation for Texas residency status by ensuring that individuals do not unlawfully obtain resident-prices, licenses, or benefits at the point-of-sale," said a Texas Parks and Wildlife Press Release.
