JACOB SENDEJO/Wilson County News Wilson County Emergency Services District (ESD) 5 firefighters ensure the flames are extinguished on a hay baler July 28 near the intersection of C.R. 330 and U.S. 181 in Floresville.

ESD 5 Chief Adam Strzelczyk shared that the driver of the tractor pulling the hay baler was moving the equipment from a field near Dittmar Lumber shortly after 4 p.m. when he smelled smoke, so he pulled the baler away from nearby businesses to the side of U.S. 181. "The cause of the fire was most likely due to faulty ball bearings in the baler," Strzelczyk said.
